The Ministry of Justice has named a list of the rarest names by which parents called their children in 2020. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice on Monday, December 28.

“In 2020, some of the young parents decided to show originality by choosing a name for their newborn son. So in Ukraine, the rarest names among boys this year are Zelensky, Yanyk, Vakula, Lemon, Kiev, Prince, Prince , Parisian, there were names like Luna, Empire, Cinderella, Khrustalina, Kvitka, Chanel, Neva, “says the message.

However, most parents prefer traditional names. Among children in 2020 in Ukraine, the most popular names were: Artem, Andrey, Bogdan, Vladislav, Vladimir, Daniil, Dmitry. Among female names, the most popular are: Anna, Anastasia, Antonina, Bogdana, Valeria, Victoria.

We will recall that before, almost 9,000 Ukrainians have changed their names since the beginning of the year. Women in Ukraine changed their name twice more often than men in 2020. So Lyudmila became Kaya and Andrei became Vlad.
