The chief health doctor said how many people in Ukraine have already had a new type of coronavirus infection.

At the Health Ministry, many of its employees have already suffered from a coronavirus infection. On Sunday, December 27, the chief medical officer, Viktor Lyashko, reported on this on the air of Ukraine 24 channel.

“He did not have a coronavirus disease. Many of us in the Health Ministry have been ill, including the minister, but I have not,” Lyashko said.

In total, according to him, about a million people have had coronavirus in Ukraine and 39 million people have not yet gotten sick.

“There are a number of factors. I would like no one to get sick and that this pandemic subsides and we return to our normal life before the pandemic,” said the doctor.

As a reminder, in Ukraine, more than 70% of hospital beds for coronavirus patients have already received oxygen.

In addition, the Ministry of Health recommends that Ukrainians do not visit countries where a new strain of coronavirus has been discovered, mainly the United Kingdom.
