A system for the automatic recording of photos and videos of traffic offenses will operate on the territory of the Lviv region.
This was announced by the deputy chief of the Ukrainian patrol police Oleksiy Biloshitskiy on his Facebook page.
It is reported that as of December 30, 2020, three CCTV cameras will operate on the M-06 (Kiev – Chop) highway, which will monitor compliance with traffic requirements.
The first camera was installed on the 490 km + 400 road, not far from Busk, the second – on the 555 km + 662 road, not far from the town of Solonka. The third camera will be installed on the 555 km + 730 highway.
According to a representative of the police patrol, the location of the cameras was not chosen by chance. The fact is that it is on these three routes where the highest number of infractions is observed, which ultimately lead to emergencies and accidents. When the patrol service launched cameras in the Ukrainian capital and the Kiev region, 57,880 speed violations were recorded. At the moment, it is known that the figure has decreased five times, and the number of traffic accidents, three times in the places where the cameras were installed.
Oleksiy Biloshitskiy recalled that 45 cameras located in the capital of Ukraine and the Kiev region record crimes in automatic mode.
As reported by “Apostrophe”, the Ministry of Infrastructure plans in 2021 to improve traffic safety to equip 125 more automatic cameras with extended functionality and 100 modern WiM complexes (“Weighing in Motion”) for automatic weight control on roads from Ukraine.
