Entry for Ukrainians: Poland has updated the rules

Poland has updated the rules of entry of Ukrainian citizens to its territory during the coronavirus pandemic.

The new rules apply to various categories of citizens, in particular families, relatives, people with the right of residence, as well as those who travel to work.

So, as of December 28, citizens will be able to enter Poland that:

  • are the spouses or children of Polish citizens or are under the permanent guardianship of Polish citizens;

  • have a Polish card;

  • have the right to permanent or temporary residence in Poland;

  • have the right to perform work on the territory of Poland on the same basis as Polish citizens, have a work permit or confirmation of the intention to perform seasonal work, confirmation of an order to perform work on the territory of Poland, perform work on the territory of Poland or provide documents from which it follows that work will start immediately after crossing the border;

  • have received training in Poland (pupils, students, fellows, postgraduate applicants, doctoral students) or are people who accompany students;

  • they are scientists doing research in Poland;

  • family members (spouses, children) of a citizen of the European Union, the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) –

    parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or Switzerland;

  • have a permanent residence permit or long-term resident card from a member state of the European Union, the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) –

    Parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, or Switzerland, or their relatives (spouses, children), who enter Poland for the purpose of transit through its territory;

  • are drivers of vehicles in the field of international passenger, cargo or combined transport and enter the territory of Poland as part of their official duties;

  • are sailors, fishermen, workers on drilling or offshore production platforms who enter Poland in order to transit through its territory to the place of performance of their official duties;

  • are employees of diplomatic and consular institutions, representatives of international organizations and members of their families, as well as other people who cross the border with diplomatic passports;

  • are passengers of airplanes who make an international flight from an airport located in the territory of the state, are not subject to the air traffic ban and belong to at least one of the above categories of citizens of Ukraine, or have a residence permit in Georgia, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Thailand, Republic of Korea, Tunisia, Australia;

  • Entering Poland on the basis of a national visa for the purpose of repatriation or as family members (spouses, children) of a returnee;

  • enter Poland to participate in sporting events (athletes, coaches, doctors, physiotherapists, judges, accredited journalists) with the supporting documents from the organizer of the competition;

  • enter Poland with a visa issued for the purpose of work for humanitarian reasons, it is in the interest of Poland or its international obligations;

  • They enter Poland on a visa issued to participate in the Poland program. Commercial port;

  • are foreign businessmen and representatives of foreign business entities entering Poland for commercial purposes, who, in response to a note from the diplomatic office of the respective country, have received consent to entry from the Polish Foreign Minister.

  • As OBOZREVATEL reported, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health on December 18 included Turkey in the “red” zone due to the high incidence of COVID-19 in this country. A total of 47 countries were included in the list, including Serbia, Georgia, Croatia, Lithuania and Luxembourg.
