Specialists from the University of Athens have recreated the face of a girl who lived on Earth about 9 thousand years ago.

About that report Reuters tabloid reporters, citing National Geographic.

The girl’s face and skull were recreated thanks to the actions of several experts at the same time, including an endocrinologist and an orthopedist. In the reconstruction of the girl’s image, the scientists were aided by mathematical algorithms and computed tomography. The team also used a 3D printer to print the skull of an elderly girl.

According to scientists, the girl of ancient times had a huge chin and cheekbones. The color of this girl’s skin and eyes was inferred from the general characteristics of the people who lived in the region. Age was determined by teeth – the girl was only 18 years old. Unfortunately, the scientists did not report the circumstances of the death.

Experts also found that the girl lived at the end of the Mesolithic, the era of people’s transition from gathering to cereal production.

This is the very beginning of civilization. That is why a group of scientists named the girl Avgi – translated from the Greek, this word means “dawn”. The 18-year-old Auggi skull was discovered in 1993 in Theopetra Cave in central Greece.
