“Border guards from the Chernihiv detachment prevented two attempts to move prohibited items across the Russian-Ukrainian border at the Senkovka checkpoint,” the message reads.
Thus, a 55-year-old Russian brought oriental sabers and daggers to Ukraine, and the second, a 47-year-old Ukrainian, was returning to the country from Russia, carrying prohibited knives, one of which was engraved with the “FSB RF”.
As a result, all the sabers, daggers and knives were confiscated and transferred to the National Police for examination.
In addition, a message was sent to the police regarding the identification of signs of a criminal offense under art. 263 of the Penal Code (“Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives”). The maximum penalty under this article is up to seven years in prison.
