Russian President Dmitry Peskov’s press secretary said that the Kremlin chief is aware of the situation in Ukraine as he communicates with representatives of various Ukrainian parties. However, the Kremlin chief’s contacts with the Kiev authorities are minimal.
Peskov spoke about this in an interview with the Moscow, Kremlin and Putin program, Vesti reports.
“Putin has a great idea. He also has contacts with representatives of various Ukrainian parties, and so on. Medvedchuk comes to him, they communicate, so he has information about what is happening there,” he said.
As for relations with the current Ukrainian government, now, according to Peskov, “no one really calls.”
At the same time, he said that the statement made by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier in the year in Poland (later blamed the Soviet Union for unleashing World War II) “severely cut off” not just Putin’s hearing and heart. , but also a large number of veterans and in general, all who live on the territory of the former USSR and whose ancestors participated in the Great Patriotic War, Peskov said.
“And in Ukraine itself there are many,” he added.
Recall that during the same interview, Peskov said that no one in Ukraine has yet undertaken the implementation of the agreements to resolve the Donbass conflict, which were reached in Paris in 2019.
