The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk reacted to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement on a possible Russian attack on Ukraine and the mass mobilization of Ukrainians. He considers the position of the head of state to be a normal patriot reaction.
How Kravchuk explained Zelensky’s words
Kravchuk pointed out that the president could not respond otherwise. And if you were asked about this, then your answer would be the same. He said this on the air of one of Ukraine’s television channels, Channel 24 reports.
Also find out Kravchuk said that Russia in the TCG inappropriately connects all problems with politics.
The journalist asked the question: if there was a Russian attack from Crimea, how would Ukraine behave? The president responded: if this happened, we would defend our land and everyone would go to defend it. And the question was “if only”, and the answer was in the same perspective,
– said the first president of Ukraine.
The president could not answer otherwise
According to Kravchuk, when he was no longer president, he was also asked: if the enemy came to his land, what would he do? He seemed to reply that he had enough weapons of different caliber and that he would fire at the enemy.
“As long as my hands are holding weapons and my eyes are looking, I will defeat the enemy and not live by the ‘turn the other cheek’ principle. This is a normal response from a patriot of Ukraine, a person who loves his land ”, he emphasized.
What Zelensky said about the mobilization
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an interview with Focus on December 25, said that if Russia attacks from the Crimea, there will be a great war. And everyone will have to mobilize for it. It will be very bad for the Ukrainian population.
- The NSDC criticized such a response from the president, calling the idea of a mass mobilization unrealistic. According to the undersecretary of the National Defense and Security Council, Major General Sergei Krivonos, it is impossible to implement general mobilization in practice without prolonged preparation.
