Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin revealed the details of the summer sales Alexander Zubkov in “Ferencvaros”.
– Are you satisfied with the transfer of Alexander Zubkov to Ferencvaros for 1 million euros in the price / quality system?
– 1.5 million euros and 30% of future sales.
– However, Zubkov is becoming one of the most important players in the Ukrainian team, but he is no longer a Shakhtar player.
– This is not an evaluative position. Not all players on the Ukrainian national team can be suitable for Shakhtar. He is a good footballer, he was one of the best in the matches between Dynamo and Ferencvaros in the Champions League. But if he came to us, he would not be able to compete in these positions.
We should not be afraid of selling footballers. If we don’t see a guy in the lineup and we have a good deal for him, we should sell. At some point we can be wrong, but at any moment we can buy the player again. But if we don’t sell players, these guys may not show up and disappear. Then we will lose both in money and in a possible future redemption, if the player shows up.
– I mean, in the situation with Zubkov, did Shakhtar win more than he lost?
– Yes, because we received money and a percentage of future sales, and the team received a footballer. Everyone wins – said Palkin.
