The Ukrainian doctor of infectious diseases Viktor Petrov, who announced the first case “British” strain of coronavirus in Transcarpathia, spoke about his patient’s symptoms. The doctor said the man’s illness was mild. Reported by OBOZREVATEL.

Petrov said that this is a 24-year-old boy who came from the Czech Republic, where he goes to work. Had mild symptoms COVID-19.

“He had no fever, he had no problems. I contacted myself as my GP. I saw that there were signs of coronavirus infection, we did a PCR test. The patient received a negative result and returned to work in the Czech Republic. After that, we received information that I had a suspicion of a new strain, “said the doctor.

According to Petrov, the man was taken for follow-up in the Czech Republic. Later, he informed the doctor that he had been questioned by the country’s health authorities, where he had returned from, etc.

“Therefore, I would like to say that if we do not restrict the movement of citizens now, unfortunately, the virus got out of control in absolutely all countries, especially in border areas such as Uzhgorod, Transcarpathia and the Lviv region,” said the doctor. .

Petrov said that there is definitely a new strain of coronavirus in Ukraine. There is still no fact, simply because there is no possibility of genetic analysis of these viruses.

“There are no such facilities everywhere to diagnose them. Simply (the virus) will be called, for example, Sars-COV-3, and no more. Your genetic mutation will occur very actively and quickly. This situation is especially complicated by the epidemic growth of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza “, predicted the doctor.

He believes that the world will soon have to refine existing coronavirus vaccines, as they are likely not effective against a new mutation found in Britain.

The day before, Viktor Petrov said that a new strain of coronavirus discovered in Britain had already appeared in Ukraine, and the first case of infection was recorded in Transcarpathia.

As previously reported by NEWSONE, the head doctor of the transcarpathic region of the hospital for infectious diseases Mikhail Polyak denied information that the first case of a “British” strain of coronavirus was discovered in the region.
