Former Ukraine midfielder Maksym Kalinichenko commented on the information that he could lead FC Lviv.
– “Lviv” wanted to invite you to the coaching position, but there was information that you were abandoned because of your ties to Russia.
– I laughed at that too. The fact that you live in Russia is enough for some people. But I don’t think that’s the main reason. First of all, nobody contacted me in general. Apparently they were talking somewhere within the team, and the nimble informant rushed in and decided to give it the way he did. They are normal things for the media. There are many around me, as I am located between Ukraine and Russia. From time to time, these things happen on both sides.
– Does it bother you that such small things influence some decisions?
– It’s not a trifle. You can’t treat it like a trifle. Because this is a war, it is coming. For Ukraine and for me personally, what is happening now is a great tragedy. I don’t want to get into politics at all. I mean the attitude to this, to say this is a trifle … No, guys, it is not a trifle. God forbid touch this.
