The World Health Organization believes that the world is still far from the end of the coronavirus pandemic. This was announced by the Director of the WHO European Office, Hans Kluge, reports the publication “NV”.

“There is general knowledge that these viruses have been developing for about two years, so we are still halfway there,” said Hans Kluge.

Kluge added that it is difficult for the organization to predict the development of the coronavirus situation, as it is very unpredictable.

“As soon as prevention measures, lockdowns and efforts to control the virus are actively implemented, the virus will decrease. It is worth relaxing, and again we see a rapid increase in the number of patients,” said the Director of the European Office of the WHO.

Remember that a new strain of Covid-19 coronavirus was recently discovered in the UK. It has also been found in Denmark, Australia, Italy, and the Netherlands. Boris Johnson said that the new strain may be 70% more infectious than the common one, and that is why the reproduction rate may increase by 0.4, showing the growth dynamics in the number of new cases of coronavirus infection.
