Chancellor explained the reasons for the conflict with Hungary

Kiev regularly reminds Budapest of the “red lines” regarding Transcarpathia, the head of diplomacy noted.

For more than 20 years, the central government of Ukraine paid little attention to the Transcarpathian region, in relation to which Hungary felt free there. But everything has changed. This was announced on Thursday, December 24, by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba, on the air of the television channel Ukraine 24.

“The situation (in Transcarpathia – ed.) Changed in 2017, when the correct balance was established, the leveling of the situation began. What we are seeing now is a continuation of this process,” explained the minister.

At the same time, he noted, Kiev regularly reminds Budapest of the “red lines” regarding the region.

“We have a very simple approach. I always tell my Hungarian colleague about this: we understand that you are concerned about the fate of ethnic Hungarians on the territory of Ukraine, you have the right to take care of them, but you must do so within the red lines defined by the Ukrainians “. Legislation. Sometimes they go beyond these lines – we hit our hands ”, – said Kuleba.

As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine initiated proceedings on three articles of the Criminal Code, in particular on treason, in connection with the performance of the Hungarian anthem by newly elected deputies of one of the communities of the Transcarpathian region after taking the oath .
