Aleksey Arestovich, an advisor to the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral contact group to resolve the situation in Donbass, claims that he does not see the influence of the oligarchs at their level.
There are many who want to deprive Andriy Yermak of the post of head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, as he was able to share power and the oligarchs, said Oleksiy Arestovich, adviser to the Ukrainian delegation in the trilateral contact group to resolve the situation in Donbass, in an interview with Babel on December 24.
“Yermak did something incredible: according to my feelings, he cut the oligarchs from power. I see how decisions are made. At my level, I don’t see a single trace of the influence of the oligarchs,” he explained.
As proof, Arestovich cited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s speech on ICTV during the constitutional crisis. According to Zelensky, he was inspired by the Russians and “Maybach” (the behind-the-scenes name of the “For the Maybut” party, led by a close ally of Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky, Igor Palitsa).
“We know who’s in the Maybach,” he hinted.
Arestovich is Ermak’s independent advisor on strategic communications in the field of national security and defense.
Ermak headed the Office of the President in February 2020.
