The unemployment rate in Ukraine in the III quarter was 9.9%
The number of unemployed Ukrainians has increased throughout the year; now 1.7 million people of working age in Ukraine are unemployed.
In the third quarter of 2020, the unemployment rate for the working-age population rose to 9.9%. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service, published on Thursday, December 24.
In particular, in the third quarter of 2020, the unemployment rate among people aged 15 to 70 was 9.5%, and among people of working age, 9.9%. At the same time, in 2019, the unemployment rate among people aged 15 to 70 was 8.2%, and among people of working age, 8.6%.
At the same time, the number of employed people aged 15 to 70 in the third quarter of 2020 amounted to 15.9 million people, of working age – 15.2 million people. The number of unemployed between 15 and 70 years of age and of working age is 1.7 million people, respectively.
While in 2019 the number of employed people aged 15 to 70 was 16.6 million people, of working age, 15.9 million people. The number of unemployed between 15 and 70 years of age and of working age is 1.5 million, respectively.
Finally, in the third quarter of 2020, the employment rate of the population aged 15 to 70 years was 56.1%, that of the working-age population – 65.4%, and in 2019 the employment rate of the population aged 15 to 70 years was 58.2%. of working age – 67.6%.
Recall that earlier Zelensky signed a law on social protection for the quarantine period. The law regulates certain procedural issues related to the acquisition and confirmation of unemployment status by a person, as well as the receipt of unemployment benefits during the quarantine period.
It was also reported that Shmygal called at least from the weekend quarantine. After quarantine restrictions over the weekend, the number of jobless claims increased in November.
