So far, the Ukrainians are not ready to discuss the issue of dialogue with Russia, Kuleba believes.
Ukraine’s immediate goal is to achieve the principle of peaceful coexistence with Russia, the minister said.
Dialogue with Russia is necessary to achieve peaceful coexistence. This was announced on Thursday, December 24, by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
“I believe that the short-term goal in our relations with the Russian Federation is to achieve the principle of peaceful coexistence. Now the war is a fact. We must end the war and restore territorial integrity. But we understand that Russia’s position about Ukraine will not change. Our goal is this is a way out for peaceful coexistence, “he said.
According to him, when Russia realizes the inevitability of Ukraine’s independence, countries will be able to move to the principle of coexistence.
“Coexistence, when we find … we simply tolerate ourselves … Then we can look further … We cannot get away from geography,” Kuleba added.
He noted that now it is very difficult to raise this issue in society, but Ukraine needs this serious conversation.
Earlier, Kuleba said that the Russian Foreign Ministry refuses to contact the Ukrainian side.
In response, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced his readiness for a dialogue with Kuleba.
