The British can fly to France on one condition
This order will be in effect until at least January 6, subject to a possible bilateral or pan-European review.
French citizens, EU citizens, as well as British and third-country nationals residing in France can enter French territory if they have a negative test for COVID-19, carried out within a maximum period of three days. This was announced on Tuesday night, December 22, by the French government press service.
“Whatever their nationality, all passengers must present to the aeronautical, maritime or railway company a document from the analysis laboratory that contains a negative test result for Sars-CoV-2 (COVID-19). The services in charge of the border control will also be able to check it “, – indicated in the message.
As the press service explained, a 48-hour ban on British entry was necessary due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus mutation in the UK.
During this time, a risk analysis presented by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) was reviewed with the European Commission and EU Member States, and other steps were discussed with the British government.
“This order (to lift the ban) will apply at least until January 6, subject to a possible bilateral or pan-European review, which may take place at that time,” the French government noted.
Recall that on December 20, several states of the world, including France, temporarily closed the sky to British citizens due to a new mutation of the coronavirus found in it.
