The actions of the Air Force commander resulted in a large number of cadets on board.
The Kiev Pechersk District Court released Ukrainian Air Force Commander Sergei Drozdov on personal obligation, who is suspected of negligence in the case of the AN-26 military plane crash near Chuguev in the Kharkov region. This was reported on Tuesday December 22nd by hromadske.
So, according to the investigation, Sergey Drozdov approved in 2018 a temporary course for pilots, which indicated the possibility of fifth-year cadets in two exercises to conduct conveyor belt flights on An-26 aircraft. At the same time, the decision was not agreed with the manufacturing plant, as required by the procedure.
Therefore, according to the prosecution, Drozdov created a false impression among the military about the legal and safe use of transport flights among cadets.
Furthermore, on March 1, 2019, the Air Force Commander approved a three-stage concept of the flight training system for cadets of the flight school, and in February 2020, the KhNUPS leadership made a decision, which provides for the joint training of cadet-pilots and cadet-navigators on the An-26 aircraft at the expense of fuel, which was allocated for the training of cadet-pilots “, – said in the courtroom prosecutor Anton Zelensky.
Such actions of Drozdov led to the fact that there were a large number of cadets on board.
However, the court refused to comply with the prosecutor’s request for house arrest 24 hours a day and chose a different measure of restraint.
We will recall, earlier in the case of the fall of the AN-26, the court sent under arrest without the right to pay bail, the commander of the military unit A4104 Vyacheslav Glazunov, as well as the head of the flights of this unit, Alexander Zhuk.
