Bosnia and Herzegovina demands the resignation of the President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik. He presented the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, an old icon that had been taken from Luhansk.

It is reported in the Balkan Insight issue.

Dodik’s resignation was supported by the Serbian Democratic Party, the largest opposition party in the Republika Srpska, and the Party of Democratic Progress.

“The only right step is to resign from a position in which you obviously don’t know how to behave, and save us from further embarrassment,” said the leader of the Democratic Progress Party, Branislav Borenovic.

The leader of the Serbian Democratic Party, Mirko Sarovic, demanded the resignation of all those implicated in the icon scandal.

“I hope that this time not everything turns out like this, because this is a stain on our entire nation,” he emphasized.

Dodik and his party, the Union of Independent Social Democrats, have yet to comment on the icon scandal. Dodik himself, according to local media reports, is being treated for coronavirus.

We will remember, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine demanded an explanation from Bosnia and Herzegovina, how the icon ended up in this country and what motivated Lavrov to present it.

Later, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, they announced the opening of a case for the ancient Ukrainian icon presented to Lavrov. Bosnian law enforcement officers began investigating this incident.
