According to the investigation, a 48-year-old resident of the Kamenka-Bugsky district, a 38-year-old resident of the Skole district, a 60-year-old resident of Lvov, as well as three residents of the Rivne region aged 49, 56 and 57 years were involved in the incidents.
Criminal proceedings opened on clause 1 of art. 353 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized appropriation of powers associated with the commission of socially dangerous acts). The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 100 minimum non-taxable income of citizens (1,700 UAH) or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of freedom for up to three years.
From December 18 to 20, law enforcement officers searched the addresses of the defendants in the case.
“The police confiscated mobile phones, USB sticks and disks, meeting minutes, newspapers and documents with information on the formation of illegal local government agencies and other material evidence,” the statement said.
