The 18th century icon, presented to Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov by the head of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Milorad Dodik, is the property of the state of Ukraine.

This is evidenced by stamp on the back of the icon, according to the website of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. The department is investigating the origin of the memo.

It is known that behind the image is the seal of the Odessa Regional Commission for the Protection of Monuments of Material Culture and Nature. He worked from 1926 to 1930 and devoted himself to drawing up lists of cultural monuments in all districts within the limits of his responsibility, taking them into account and under state protection.

MKIP prepares inquiries for the State Archives of the Odessa Region, the Odessa Archaeological Museum, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine and other museum institutions.

In addition, the Ministry will ask law enforcement officials to find out how the Ukrainian icon arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Remember:

As OBOZREVATEL reported, in March 2020 in Bosnia and Herzegovina the Serbian mercenary Gavrila Stevic, who in 2014 fought against the Ukrainians in the Donbass in the ranks of the LPR terrorists, was acquitted for the first time. For one month of his “service” he received 500 euros. The man claimed that he came to the “LPR” as a journalist and writer.
