Rape ships to be added to Interpol’s wanted list
In recent years, the number of foreign ships calling at Crimean ports has dropped from 162 to 15, the ARC prosecutor’s office noted.
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol identified 32 vessels that violated the procedure for entering / leaving the peninsula annexed by Russia and, at their request, were detained. This was announced on Monday, December 21, by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office.
“Prosecutors plan to send a request to the Ukrainian Interpol Bureau to include these ships on the wanted list, as well as request international legal assistance from foreign states to make arrests,” the statement said.
It is known that Ukraine officially ceased operation of all ports of the occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and closed ports for international shipping since July 2014.
“However, some foreign ships enter Crimea illegally, which is classified as actions that undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty and violate the norms of national legislation and carry criminal liability of ship owners, operators and captains,” emphasizes the office of the prosecutor.
At the same time, the ARC Prosecutor’s Office noted that in recent years the number of foreign ships calling at Crimean ports has decreased from 162 to 15.
“Ukrainian legislation is violated mainly by ships that fly the Russian flag, less frequently, from Syria, Egypt and Lebanon, with which Ukraine has no international cooperation in this direction,” the ministry said.
As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine has included the judges of the Constitutional Court of Russia on the international wanted list. They are suspected of invading the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Previously, Korrespondent.net wrote that 65 Russian planes were arrested for flights to Crimea. At the same time, some 40 Russian companies were identified that carry out regular air transport of passengers to Crimea in violation of international flight rules and the laws of Ukraine.
We also add that the Kremlin threatens to retaliate against Ukraine for the arrest of Russian aircraft. A representative of the occupation authorities threatened to arrest “numerous objects owned by Ukrainian officials and large companies”, both on the peninsula itself and in Russia.
