The Washington Post reported that hackers from the APT29 group, known as Cozy Bear, were involved in a cyberattack on US government websites, including the country’s Treasury and Commerce Ministry, on December 13. The hackers, according to the publication, cooperate with the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in an interview with US radio host Mark Levin Dec. 18 said Russia is behind the new cyber attack. The interview was posted on the State Department website.
