The attackers met with local residents to establish illegal local government bodies.
In the Lviv region, six citizens tried to create illegal local self-government bodies, duplicating the functions of existing bodies. On Monday, December 21, the press service of the Regional Police reported.
It is noted that six residents of the Lviv and Rivne regions during December organized and held meetings with the population of the Lviv region to create illegal local government bodies, duplicating the functions of the existing bodies.
Also, according to the investigation, on 7 December they held a meeting with residents of the Skole district, during which they announced the creation of an illegal local government body in one of the district’s villages and elected deputies and a chief.
And on December 8, the attackers organized a meeting of local residents in Lviv, in which they incited those present to create a pseudo-governmental body called “the local government body of the Lviv city council.”
During December 18-20, law enforcement officers conducted six searches at the addresses of his residence in the Lviv and Rivne regions. The police seized mobile phones, USB sticks and disks, meeting minutes, newspapers and documents on the formation of illegal local government bodies and other material evidence.
The suspects face a fine of up to 100 minimum non-taxable citizens’ income or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of liberty for up to three years.
Earlier it was reported that a local police station was set on fire in the Lviv region. The man, who was later arrested, broke a window and threw a smoke bomb into the room.
