On Monday, December 21, a new scandal broke out in the Zaporozhye Regional Council. Former governor of the region Vitaly Bogovin, who calls himself the head of the regional council, brought people in disguise to the conference room over the weekend to prevent deputies from entering the hall.
As “Strana” became known, the task of the people brought in by Bogovin is to physically prevent the deputies of the regional council from entering the room. They closed from the inside and honestly admitted that the former governor let them in.
The parliamentarians of the “Platform of the Opposition – For Life” presented a statement about this fact to the police. They pointed out that a group of unidentified people in sportswear and camouflage, some with elements that looked like weapons, number about 20 people, had been in the regional council building since the weekend.
“It was learned by the deputies that the indicated persons were brought to the Zaporozhye Regional Council building by V. Bogovin, allegedly having signed with him not to receive it … It was made clear by the remains of food on the tables, packages and personal belongings on the seats that had spent the night in the session room. ” , – said in the statement of the party.
The deputies ask to establish the identity of the men who are in the room of the regional council, as well as to know if they have arms, and also to stop hindering their activities.
Let us remind you that “Strana” had a detailed understanding of what was happening in the Zaporozhye regional council, where dual power had reigned. Vitaly Bogovin, who entered the regional council on the Servant of the People party list, and regional council deputy Vitaly Tolochek, who also left the faction with a scandal, also call themselves president of the region’s regional council.
Furthermore, the majority of the regional council is currently against Bogovin. That is, in reality, the situation between the deputies is controlled by Tolochek.
This is probably why the former governor (who has the support of Kiev) is trying to block the council’s work.
