Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Ukrainians to the festive city “Nikolai Takes Friends” at the Office of the Head of State on Bankova Street.
He posted a video of the town’s inauguration on Telegram, which took place the day before. (scroll to the bottom of the page to view).
“This year, the Christmas tree near the Office of the President is special and magical, because it is decorated with toys that are made according to sketches of children with special educational needs,” says First Lady Elena Zelenskaya in the video.
The president adds that the toys are “incredibly beautiful, festive, full of goodness and a sense of wonder.”
“Welcome and we are waiting for each one of you,” Zelensky said.
Additionally, the OP reported that the presidential couple met with representatives of scout organizations – the National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine and the Association of Girl Guides of Ukraine – and received the fire of Bethlehem.
The scouts read a greeting poem and then the children, a representative from each organization, together handed the Bethlehem fire lamp to the head of state and the first lady.
Zelensky congratulated all the explorers and their families on the upcoming vacation and wished for peace.
