Today in Ukraine additional quarantine restrictions come into force due to the coronavirus. In particular, the new bans refer to the holding of mass events, the entertainment sector and the work of catering establishments. Quarantine measures have been intensified since December 19
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of new restrictions to combat the spread of the coronavirus. They are being introduced across the country since December 19, in addition to the existing quarantine bans of the “orange” zone.
The duration of the restrictions covers the New Year and Christmas period. Therefore, in accordance with the government’s decision, at this time it is prohibited to hold festive events and banquets in catering establishments, and religious and mass events are significantly limited.
An exception is New Year’s Eve: from December 31 to January 1, restaurants and cafes will be open until 01:00.
Additional restrictions
- Mass events in educational institutions (concerts, performances, festive performances) in the presence of visitors and with the participation of children from more than one group / class are prohibited;
- prohibited public events, banquets, master classes, festive events in entertainment and catering establishments;
- the reception of visitors in museums and other cultural institutions is limited: no more than 1 person for every 10 square meters;
- The work of the catering establishments is prohibited from 23:00 to 07:00 (except take away orders, delivery). Settlement transactions end after 10:00 pm;
- the celebration of religious events is limited: on the premises, no more than 1 person per 5 square meters. meter; outdoors, it is imperative to maintain a distance of 1.5 m between those present.
Along with the new prohibitions, as of December 19, the restrictions in the “orange” zone will also be in force, in particular, Being in public places and transport without a mask., Lack of documents.

Current restrictions on the “orange” zone include prohibition of routine hospitalizations, visits to social security institutionswhere elderly, disabled, war veterans live.
Foreign citizens are prohibited from crossing the Ukrainian border without an insurance policy.
What is allowed after the strengthening of the quarantine on December 19.
- the work of public transport: passenger transport by the number of seats (except the subway);
- conducting massive events with up to 20 participants, subject to a distance of 1.5 m;
- operation of cinemas with an occupation of no more than 50% of the room;
- operation of markets, shopping centers, stores, subject to anti-epidemic security regulations;
- hotel activities, rehabilitation centers, sanatoriums;
- visit educational institutions in groups of up to 20 people (except kindergartens, schools and other institutions of secondary, extracurricular and specialized education);
- gym and fitness center work, subject to the number of visitors – no more than 1 person per 20 square meters.
It should be noted that during the meeting on December 9, the government also decided to extend the general quarantine period until the end of February 2021. At the same time, the next tightening of the quarantine awaits Ukrainians from January 8, 2021 .
The Cabinet of Ministers announced the strengthening of the quarantine from 00:00 hours on January 8 to 00:00 hours on January 25. For this period, the country will prohibit the full operation of cafes and restaurants, shopping centers, non-food markets, cinemas and entertainment venues, gyms and fitness centers.
During the strict quarantine from January 8 to 24, public transportation, grocery stores, beauty salons (by appointment), post office, banks, and gas stations will continue to operate.
