In the Chernihiv region, a retiree stole a Lexus and left his bicycle

The Lexus owner left him with the engine running and his grandfather spontaneously decided to steal the car.

In the Chernihiv region, the police arrested an 80-year-old man for stealing a Lexus car. This was reported by the regional department of the National Police on Friday, December 18.

The incident took place the night before. The applicant told law enforcement officers that the vehicle was parked near the Krekhayevskiy town hall, the keys were left in the ignition. The car was started because its owner decided to enter the administration building for only a few minutes.

A vehicle target was dispatched to patrols serving in adjacent areas. Less than an hour later, officers from the Kozeletsky Police Station caught up with and blocked the Lexus, which was seized by a man born in 1940.

“When police officers and concerned citizens came across a car in Rozhni, Brovary district, Kiev region, they were very surprised: an 80-year-old man was driving. he left his old Stork bike, ”the message reads.

Law enforcement officers discovered that the pensioner had no problems with the law before, he lived alone. The police point out that the decision to rob a retiree was spontaneous, they were not planned actions.

On this fact, a criminal case was started under the article on the illegal seizure of a vehicle (part 2 of article 289 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Theft faces five to eight years with or without property confiscation.

Earlier it was reported that a 17-year-old boy hijacked a minibus in Rivne for the third time in a year. The guy was coming back from his grandmother and took advantage of the fact that the parking attendant, where the car was parked, left for a few minutes. The police chased him.

Before that, it was learned that in Odessa a woman caused an accident in a hijacked taxi. The woman was returning from a nightclub and began to have conflicts with the driver. And when he tried to leave her, she locked the doors and left.
