Arestovich announced disinformation about the death of a military man in Donbass

The Ukrainian side, reporting on the death of a soldier in Donbass, whose body was handed over by militants yesterday, published the Russian version. This was the result of a technical error.

Alexey Arestovich, information policy advisor to the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, told RBC-Ukraine about this in a comment.

According to him, he had several texts: the version that described the Russian part, and the version that he wanted to make public officially. As a result, the wrong message was posted on Telegram.

“It is very sad that I published, in fact, the version of the Russian side, which has signs of information confrontation. This is specifically my mistake, which is related to the fact that I missed the text,” Arestovich said.

On the eve, on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian delegation, the TCG released information that the militants had handed over the body of a fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, it was reported that he allegedly passed by the militants without permission and without a weapon and allegedly died of alcohol or drug intoxication.

The message was later corrected. The soldier ended up in the occupied territory and died there of unknown causes.

Arestovich clarified that he had published the version of the representatives of the Russian side, which was discussed in internal correspondence.

We will recall, earlier it was reported that in the Avdiivka area, the enemy sniper wounded a Ukrainian soldier. The militants continue to violate the ceasefire.

In addition, Ukraine sent a protest note to Russia for another “humanitarian convoy” to the occupied Donbass.
