Pro-Russian militants in Donbass handed over the body of a dead soldier of the Armed Forces to the Ukrainian side. According to preliminary information, he arbitrarily passed over to the enemy’s side.
The press service of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) announced this on Telegram.
It is reported that thanks to the humanitarian subgroup in the TCG, the body of a military man was handed over to the Ukrainian side of one of the mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to preliminary data, on December 14, while intoxicated, he went over to the enemy side without permission and without weapons. It is also reported that he died of alcohol or drug intoxication.
“Thanks to the international mediators and the Evacuation 200 group for their help to return the body of our military. The Ukrainian delegation expresses its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” the statement said.
Note that during the past week, the Ukrainian side did not report the disappearance of a soldier in Donbas.
Recall, earlier in the TCG it was said that the exchange of prisoners in the Donbass is blocked, since the militants demand a procedural clearance of the CADLO transferred last year.
The militants are expected to unlock the happiness checkpoint next week, as Ukraine has met all technical requirements.
