On Thursday, December 17, in Hochfilzen, Austria, the men’s sprint race took place as part of the fourth stage of the World Cup.

Ukrainian biathletes celebrated the best race of the season. The captain of the national team Dmitry Pidruchny closed all the goals and ranked sixth high. Anton Dudchenko, who turned 24 today, also managed to shoot without fail. The birthday boy reached 20th place, showing the best result of his career.

Artem Prima made a mistake on each of the shooting lines and managed to score points, finishing 39th. And Ruslan Tkalenko and Bogdan Tsymbal, due to problems in the foot shots and a weak speed to pass the distance, did not reach the top 60, and thus ended their performance on stage, and with it the year of competition.

The Norwegians had no equal today. Sturla Legrade became the best in all the test marks from the first shot and won with confidence. Not only did he shoot flawlessly, but he also turned out to be slightly faster than Johannes Dale, who won silver. And Johannes Boe, after two failures in the prone position, managed to compose himself and win bronze. Another Norwegian Vetle Christiansen finished fourth with a penalty lap.

Race results:
