Egyptian authorities have increased the requirements for a PCR test for the coronavirus for tourists from Ukraine. Now the certificate must also have a doctor’s signature and a special QR code. The press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Egypt announced this on its Facebook page.
“Without exception, all citizens over the age of 6 who cross the Egyptian state border must have a certificate with a negative result of a PCR test carried out no later than 72 hours before arrival. Since the beginning of December, the competent authorities of Egypt have strengthened control over the reliability of certified PCR tests used by foreigners to rest in tourist cities, “said the embassy.
So, Egypt requires tourists from Ukraine that their certificate has the exact date and time of the test, it must be issued by an official laboratory registered in the state of origin of the document, have a laboratory stamp, a signature of the doctor and / or or a QR code containing a link to the result. test on the official website of the laboratory.
Also, the certificate must not contain corrections or amendments. It must contain information on the type of test carried out, it must indicate that the citizen has been tested as RT-PCR.
In this case, the certificate containing information about the person who owns the test must be in English.
Handwritten certificates are not accepted in Egypt.
“In case of doubt about the reliability of the test, the Egyptian side reserves the right to re-run the test upon arrival,” the embassy said, asking tourists to ensure that their certificate meets all requirements. from the Egyptian authorities.
If after the arrival of a tourist from Ukraine, the test shows a positive result, the citizen is isolated in a separate room on the territory of the hotel he has booked. The tourist will stay until the repeat test gives a negative result.
“These tourists are prohibited from leaving their rooms and moving freely around the hotel,” the embassy stressed.
