The Russian Federation must take political responsibility for the implementation of the Donbass agreements reached at the Normandy summit in Paris in 2019. The position of the leaders of this format is the main point of reference for the Trilateral Contact Group.
This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk, the delegation’s press service on Telegram.
The head of the Russian delegation, Boris Gryzlov, was reportedly not present at the TKG video conference. Today, the Ukrainian side confirmed its readiness to consistently implement the Minsk agreements and re-proposed its “Joint Measures Plan”.
“Kravchuk fundamentally demands that the Russian side, as a member of the TCG, assume political responsibility and formally define its position on the need to comply with the agreements reached at the highest level in Paris,” the message says.
In addition, the Ukrainian side continues to insist on the implementation of the following measures:
- unhindered access by the ICRC and other international humanitarian organizations to prisoners
- prisoner release
- Unblocking the operation of the checkpoint by the Russian side.
- finalization of the agreement on nineteen demining sites
- finalization of the agreement on four new hatcheries
- ensure free access of the OSCE SMM to the entire territory of Ukraine
We will recall, earlier the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, said that dialogue with Russia is necessary to build a strategy.
This week Ukraine expanded the law on the special status of Donbass. This is necessary for the peace negotiations with the Russian side.
