The ceremony will take place next June

Legendary Ukrainian heavyweight champion Volodymyr Klitschko is inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. The official ceremony will take place on June 14, 2021 at the museum’s location in Canastote, New York.

This was reported on the award website.

Along with him, next year, Americans Floyd Mayweather (welterweight), Andre Ward (light heavyweight), as well as boxers Leila Ali and Anne Wolfe, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Klitschko participated in the vote for the first time and was chosen as a member of the expert jury from 42 nominees on the first try.

Vladimir won the vote three years after the end of his professional career. He had 69 bouts in the professional ring. He has 64 wins (54 ahead of schedule), as well as WBO, IBF, IBO and WBA world titles.

Previously, a boxer could only enter the Hall of Fame five years after retirement, but two years ago the waiting period was shortened to three years.

Recall that Vladimir’s brother, Vitali Klitschko, became the first Ukrainian to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He received this honor in 2018.

The International Boxing Hall of Fame was created in the United States to thank those who have made a great contribution to the development of this sport.
