Users of social networks have suggested the reasons for the collapse of the pillars of the Shuliavsky Bridge in Kiev on December 15. Perhaps the workers are to blame, that they simply did not screw the structure.
The assumption and the photo of the fallen supports were published by the Facebook community “Typical Kiev”.
“Actually, that’s why the pillars of the Shuliavsky flyover fell. The bolts that go nowhere and hold nothing … There are no words,” says the entry.
In the comments, people write that judging from these photos, the pillars were simply vertical under their own weight and the installers did not fix them with screws. As a result of bad weather, water entered the base of the pillars, froze, expanded, and expelled intact, uncemented structures.
Previously, Strana’s source suggested from the photo that the structure also had poor quality seams and waterproofing.
As we reported, nine cars were damaged by falling headlights on the Shuliavsky Bridge. As a result, a criminal case was opened.
