Ukrainians bought 3,2 thousand units of real estate in 2019

Last year, Ukrainians bought more than 3,2 thousand apartments in Poland and became the most active investors in real estate among foreigners.

More Ukrainians bought houses in Poland in 2015 alone. Since then, the number of real estate bought by Ukrainian citizens has only grown, according to the PAP news agency.

First of all, Ukrainians buy apartments in Poland to live. At the same time, citizens of Germany or the Scandinavian countries buy real estate for more profit.

More Ukrainians are interested in housing located in the big cities: Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk.

In addition to Ukraine, the citizens of Belarus and Russia are interested in real estate in Poland. In total, the residents of these three countries bought about 4 thousand apartments with a total area of ​​more than 20 thousand square meters in 2019.

  • The international rating agency Moody’s predicts that the population of the four Eastern European countries of the EU (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary) will decrease by 4% until 2040.

  • In absolute numbers, this means that together they will lose 2.6 million citizens and their total population will drop to 61.2 million.

  • At the same time, the decline in the working-age population from 15 to 64 will be even more pronounced. Overall, Eastern European countries are expected to lose 12% of this population, or 5 million people.
