On Sunday, December 13, at 2:00 p.m., at the Zirka stadium in Kropyvnytskyi, the match of the thirteenth day of the Ukrainian Premier League began between Petrovsky Ingulets and Donetsk Shakhtar.
However, according to the journalist of the program Football news Sergey Tsygulsky, the holding of this match on time was interrupted as a result of the arena’s unwillingness to withstand the harsh weather conditions.
According to the source, the delegate of the UPL meeting Vladimir Foschim made the decision to cancel the match. As a result of the control of the state of the football field of the Zirka Stadium in Kropyvnytskyi by a team of referees consisting of the main referee of the match Dmitry Krivushkin, the fourth referee Dmitry Panchishin and the refereeing observer Igor Pokidko, the field for the game was declared inadequate.
“The referees came out on the field with boots to check that the grass was ready. The field was not ready for the meeting due to the weather conditions in Kropyvnytskyi. The boots did not enter the ground and the grass was slippery,” said the journalist.
The initial inspection of the turf, which took place on the eve of December 12, in the afternoon, at 9:00 p.m., also concluded that the sand was not ready to accept this fight.
The combat delegate allowed Donetsk Shakhtar to return to the training base in the Ukrainian capital.
Ingulets director Yevgeny Moroz, in an interview with the party delegate, is also reported to have said that the decision to cancel the meeting must be made no later than 60 minutes before the start of the meeting. To this, Foschiy replied that “if the field has not changed in 12 hours, then under such weather conditions – +1 and rain – the field will definitely not improve.”
At the same time, the representative of the competition organizers said that Ingulets can agree with the opponent to move the match to another city, if it suits the UPL and the match broadcaster. The results of these negotiations have not been reported.
Petrovo’s team faces a technical defeat if the match is not played.
