From the criticisms of the Kremlin, Alexei Navalny, before his departure to Berlin, tried to poison again, reports The Sunday Times, citing anonymous intelligence sources.

Western intelligence sources told the publication that after an unsuccessful attempt to kill him on the first attempt, state security agents probably tried to kill Navalny with a second dose of poison before they could take him to safety in Berlin.

The main critic of the Kremlin, Alexei Navalny, was poisoned in Russia on August 20 with a nerve agent from the Novichok group. In 2018, former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter were poisoned with the same substance in Salisbury, UK.

The Novichok poisoning findings were confirmed by three independent laboratories in Germany, France and Sweden.

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons also found traces of a Novichok substance in the analysis of the Russian opponent.

Alexei Navalny fell ill aboard the Tomsk-Moscow plane on August 20. The liner made an emergency landing at Omsk airport, from where the opponent was transferred to the local emergency hospital in a coma

Two days later, the politician was evacuated to the Berlin Charite clinic. Several weeks after the poisoning, Navalny’s condition improved and he was disconnected from the ventilator.

On September 23, Navalny was released from the hospital and is in rehab in Germany.
