Guterres said the state of emergency must continue until carbon neutrality is achieved and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced to zero.

The summit was attended by leaders from more than 70 countries, who discussed plans to combat global warming.

Let us remember that the UN report in early September said that in 2020 the concentration of greenhouse gases in the world reached a record level.

RBC-Ukraine wrote that plans by the UN and the UK to hold a global climate summit on December 12 were known in September. The date of the summit was set a few days after Chinese President Xi Jinping told the UN that the world’s largest greenhouse gas polluter will peak in 2030.
