The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine protested the expansion of the sanctions list against Ukrainian politicians and public figures. This fact reconfirmed the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation.

This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The department noted that they reserve the right to introduce retaliatory measures.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the attempt to pressure the Ukrainian people’s deputies and representatives of Ukrainian society. This illegal measure is a continuation of the aggression against Ukraine in all its forms and manifestations by the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian side reserves the right to take appropriate response measures in accordance with the correct international standards and principles “- said in a statement.

The Foreign Ministry also stressed that Ukraine will continue to oppose all kinds of Russian aggression and will do everything possible to end the occupation of Donbass and Crimea.

As a reminder, this week the Russian government expanded its list against Ukraine. The expanded list includes 849 people. Among them are the people’s deputies of Ukraine, including the head of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmitry Razumkov.

Also on Thursday, the European Union extended economic sanctions against Russia for six months. They are associated with the occupation of Crimea.
