The suspicion of the deputy director of the Presidency Oleg Tatarov was signed in the case of embezzlement of funds from the National Guard, in which a businessman and former deputy of the People Maxim Mikitas appears; it was not handed over, since the prosecutor who agreed with the suspicion was not part of the procedural heads of the criminal process at the time of signing the document, said Artem Sytnik, director of the National Anti-Corruption Office.
The investigation has evidence of the involvement of the deputy director of the Office of the President Oleg Tatarov in the case of a bribery to obtain an unreliable examination in the case of embezzlement of funds from the National Guard, he said in an interview with the Public Director of the National Anti-Corruption Office, Artem Sytnik.
In December, the media reported that Tatarov was probably involved in the case of the former people’s deputy and former owner of the construction company Ukrbud Maxim Mikitas: on December 1, 2020, the former people’s deputy and state expert, who, according to the investigation, assured the issuance of an opinion on the minimum difference. between the cost of apartments in Pechersk and on the outskirts of the city, they reported a suspicion of bribery (the investigation believes that the expert, in exchange for a parking space worth 250,000 UAH, provided Mikitas with an unreliable examination).
The expert was arrested with the possibility of depositing one million UAH in bail. As the prosecutor said in the court session, Tatarov could have negotiated a bribe.
Sytnik said detectives have correspondence between Tatarov and other defendants in the criminal proceedings.
“Mr. Tatarov [тогда] job [юристом] in “Ukrbudi”, where Mikitas was. They gave a bribe to one of the heads of the expert institution for the fact that there will be an examination, which will really allow to bury this case. Also, there is such an interesting correspondence: “Let’s run, because the case is taken by NABU and then it will be difficult to solve something.” And for such a decision, one of the heads of the expert institution received a bribe in the form of a parking space, ”said the director of NABU.
Tatarov “actually gave a bribe together with Mikitase,” Sytnik added.
“There are people who received a bribe, and people who gave a bribe. And there is evidence of this. And the suspicion, where all of this is written, has already been recognized by the court as justified,” said the director of the National Bureau.
He said that the suspicion was signed by the deputy head of the President’s Office, but by the wrong prosecutor, since the head of the General Prosecutor’s Office, Irina Venediktova, had changed the group of procedural leaders. December 2nd NABU because of this accused Venediktova of interfering, as a result of which the detectives were unable to Report the suspicion to the person involved.
“The prosecutor who signed [подозрение]He didn’t even know that he was no longer the prosecutor in this case. The prosecutor thought he was a prosecutor. Then they accidentally looked at the registry and saw that there were other prosecutors there. Seeing this, the suspicion had not yet been surrendered, prosecutors and detectives were arrested, because this would cast doubt on the legality of the procedural actions. I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire career, “added Sytnik.
Oleg Tatarov during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych served as deputy director of the Main Research Department of the Interior Ministry and is known for his harsh statements about the participants in the Dignity Revolution. In particular, he called the protesters “extremists.”
On August 5, it became known that Zelensky had appointed him deputy director of the OP.
Tatarov denies any involvement in the crime and believes that “anti-Ukrainian forces” are seeking his resignation. According to NV, Tatarov will not be fired, despite the scandals.
