The head of the Health Ministry, Maxim Stepanov, says that Ukrainians have started to go less to doctors about coronavirus tests. He said this in a briefing on Saturday, December 12.

That is why, according to the minister, the laboratories are not 100% full.

“We have decreased the number of people requesting the test through a mobile team, family doctors or otherwise,” Stepanov said.

He added that they will now conduct free COVID-19 tests for all citizens who have signs of respiratory illnesses, as well as all contact persons.

“Now we will test people with any sign of respiratory disease, regardless of whether the symptoms correspond to Coronavirus disease. Any respiratory illness, they will run PCR tests to confirm or deny the diagnosis of COVID-19 … We want to do at least one million tests per month. “, – said the minister.

Stepanov assured that the tests would be free.
