“The Fortuna Pipelayer will lay a 2.6-kilometer section of the gas pipeline in Germany’s exclusive economic zone in waters less than 30 meters (100 feet) deep,” the company said.
Recall, it was previously reported that the US Congress approved military assistance to Ukraine and sanctions against “Nord Stream-2”. Sanctions will be imposed for the provision of vessels for the laying of pipelines, as well as for the insurance services for the project.
In addition, the United States asked Germany to halt the construction of Nord Stream 2. According to the US Chargé d’Affaires in Germany, Robin Quinville, the EU and Germany should impose a moratorium.
“Now is the time for the EU and Germany to impose a moratorium on the construction of the pipeline. By doing so, they will show that they no longer intend to tolerate malicious behavior from Russia,” Quinville said.
