Ukraine is a priority for U.S. vaccination - embassy

The world has already started vaccination against the coronavirus

Kiev and Washington agreed to further coordinate efforts aimed at providing humanitarian and emergency medical assistance to Ukraine in connection with the pandemic, the embassy said.

Ukraine is a priority of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in terms of vaccinating the population against coronavirus infection, the press service of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States said on December 10.

Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Volodymyr Yelchenko, during a videoconference with USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia, Brock Bierman, discussed providing technical assistance to Ukraine to vaccinate the population against COVID-19 and create a adequate infrastructure in the country.

Agency representatives assured that Ukraine is among USAID’s priorities.

The parties also agreed to further coordinate efforts aimed at providing humanitarian and emergency medical assistance to Ukraine in connection with the pandemic.

It was previously reported that the Ministry of Health is developing three scenarios for different vaccines. With a high degree of probability, Ukraine will receive a vaccine that does not require extreme storage conditions that are difficult to guarantee. Likewise, the Ministry of Health reported how the vaccination will be carried out.
