Aliyev and Erdogan at the parade in Baku
A parade was held in Baku in honor of the victory in the war in Nagorno-Kaarabakh. Aliyev again announced territorial claims against Yerevan.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Alive said that Zangezur, Goychin and Irevan mahallas in Armenia are “the historical lands of Azerbaijan”. He said this during the victory parade in Baku on Thursday, December 10, writes Echo of the Caucasus.
It is noted that the matter concerns the territories of modern Armenia, including the Yerevan region, Sevan and Syunik.
Aliyev said that the “aggressive policy of Armenia” began in the late 1980s and “because of it, hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis living in the territory of present-day Armenia were expelled from the lands of their great-grandparents.”
In turn, Turkish President Recep Erdogan declared that the Armenian people should “learn lessons from the Karabakh war.”
As reported, nearly 2.8 thousand Turkish soldiers participated in the parade.
Recall, according to the Nagorno-Karabakh agreement, on December 1, the Lachin region passed under the control of Azerbaijan, except for the 5-kilometer corridor. On November 20, the Aghdam region came under the control of Baku, and on November 25, the Kelbajar region.
