“The SBU call center received an email warning of a terrorist attack using a homemade device. Exactly where is unknown,” the message reads.
The SBU has not yet officially confirmed this information. The “Observer” notes that reports on the removal of objects reach the SBU every week. Intelligence agents redirect them to the National Police of Ukraine.
On July 15 this year, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov reported that the number of deliberately false reports on mining “took on an alarming scale.” According to him, in 2019, the National Police investigators opened 2,000 criminal proceedings.
This number is a record compared to other years. For comparison, throughout 2014 there were 1202 productions of this type, in 2015 – 643, in 2016 – 939, in 2017 – 698, in 2018 – 741.
In this regard, in November of this year, the people’s deputies approved a bill at first reading that toughens responsibility for false mining claims.
