The number of people hospitalized decreased last week – Stepanov
The Minister of Health mentioned the reasons for the decrease in the number of tests for coronavirus. According to him, this is not due to a lack of evidence, but to a decrease in infections.
In Ukraine, fewer tests for the coronavirus have started as fewer Ukrainians are infected with the coronavirus and getting sick less. Health Minister Maxim Stepanov said this in an online briefing.
The head of the Ministry of Health also denied information that tests in the country decreased due to the small amount of tests themselves.
“When the number of requests from people with signs of the coronavirus disease decreases, the number of tests naturally decreases,” the minister stressed.
Stepanov added that the reason for the decrease in the growth dynamics of infected people is the fact that the number of hospitalized patients has decreased. So, according to him, in a week less than 1.5 thousand people arrived at the hospitals.
As of November 29, 11,606 people were hospitalized in one week, and 10,100 last week.
As previously reported, the Ministry of Health has committed to further testing for COVID. In Ukraine, the situation with the coronavirus has stabilized and there is a decrease in the number of hospitalizations, the ministry said.
Korrespondent.net also wrote that the Ministry of Health plans to do one million COVID tests a month. Ukraine has already started receiving antigen tests, which can be performed directly at the family doctor, and the result will be ready in 15 minutes.
