The Secretary of the National Defense and Security Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, met with Swedish Ambassador Tobias Tyberg. We discussed the security situation before the Swedish OSCE Chairmanship, which will start on January 1, 2021.
This was reported by the press service of the Defense and National Security Council of Ukraine.
Danilov reminded the Swedish representative of Ukraine’s position regarding the Minsk accords, namely, Russia should withdraw its troops from the occupied territories and return control of the border to Ukraine. Ukraine is ready to compromise, according to Danilov, but will never cross the “red lines”.
“Together with international partners, we are striving to end the war through joint efforts,” he emphasized.
Tyberg, for his part, promised that Ukraine would be one of the priorities of the Swedish OSCE chairmanship. The ambassador promised that Sweden will do everything possible to protect the independence and integrity of the OSCE institutions.
We will recall, earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, said that Donbass and Crimea will be among the main issues of the OSCE chaired by Sweden. Kuleba also came out in favor of ensuring OSCE monitoring in the occupied Donbass and Crimea.
