In the Kiev region, a grenade was thrown at the police and fire was opened. This was reported by the regional police on Tuesday, December 8.

Employees of the Kiev Region Police Investigation Directorate, together with operatives from the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police DEM, with the military support of KORD, exposed an organized criminal group led by a 28-year-old resident years of the Baryshevsky district.

The man coordinated the group’s actions, searched for targets of attacks and distributed funds obtained through criminal means among the group’s members. The attacker was directly involved in the attacks and sold the stolen valuables.

During the arrest, he began to resist the police: he tried to escape, threw a grenade at the KORD fighters and opened fire on law enforcement officers.

Raids were also carried out at the place of residence of the members of the group, where the police seized cars, plates, documents and equipment.

Three members of the criminal group were arrested. They turned out to be 31, 29, and 28-year-old Baryshevsky district residents. They were jailed.

Regarding the attempted murder of police officers, criminal proceedings have been opened and the question of informing the detainees of the suspicion of articles of attempted crime and robbery is being resolved.
