UN General Assembly endorsed Ukraine’s enhanced resolution on Crimea
Ukraine has prepared an enhanced resolution regarding the Russian militarization of annexed Crimea.
The UN General Assembly supported Ukraine’s enhanced draft resolution on the Russian militarization of annexed Crimea. The decision was made at a meeting on Monday, December 7.
At the same time, 63 countries supported Ukraine’s draft resolution, 17 opposed it and another 62 states abstained.
In particular, Russia and its allies: Armenia, Belarus, Serbia, Syria and Venezuela voted against the Ukraine resolution. Zimbabwe, Cambodia, China, Cuba, DPRK, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Myanmar, Nicaragua and Iran also voted against the document.
At the same time, among the countries that supported the resolution on Crimea are Germany, Georgia, Hungary, Poland, France, Croatia, Israel, Italy, the United States, Turkey, Great Britain, Estonia, Switzerland and Cyprus.
Earlier, Kuleba named the date of the Crimean platform summit. Foreign partners of Ukraine are ready to participate in the Crimean platform, which will meet in Kiev.
It was also reported that the EU is studying the Crimean Platform initiative. Brussels is awaiting additional information from Ukraine on the structure of the future platform for Crimea.
